What would it be like if you planned a Sabbath luncheon party invited as many people as will fit around your table, and Jesus was one of your guests? Who else would you want on your guest list to sit around your table with you and Jesus? Where would you want Jesus to sit? Do you think he would blend in and make polite conversation? Would he be the focus of everyone’s attention? Would conversation stop and everyone turn to listen to his every word when he speaks? Would people watch the way he eats? Would he do or say anything offensive or embarrassing to the other guests or to you? Today we’ll talk about when Jesus actually was invited for a Sabbath lunch. The story answers these questions.
