The church of Jesus is intended to be different than any human relationship or organization. It is a community that is built chiefly upon love. The pursuit of power and authority, so common in every other human institution are replaced by the compulsion to serve. It is the place where graces of patience, kindness, goodness, meekness, and humility are practiced and upheld. It is a place that affirms the newness that Christ brings to each person and rejects categories that once distinguished some and denigrated others. It is a place where Christ’s wisdom overflows into thankful worship.
