The Palm Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church hosts its 20th annual presentation of Messiah by George Frederick Handel. The concert is offered free to the public and is a great way to celebrate the holiday season.
The Church is located at 620 S. Sunrise Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264. An early arrival will not only assure one of a good seat but afford opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere. “People we have never seen before come to participate in the production,” said Lyle Burke of the Palm Springs Church. “Professional musical performers present the Messiah while the audience joins in.”
The performers include the audience – an expected 350 voice people’s choir – and an orchestra and chorus conducted by Dr. Viorel Gheorghe. For the opening of the concert the chorus and soloists accompanied by the orchestra will perform a few of the most celebrated Christmas selections from the Oratorio, bringing back many memories and setting a wonderful atmosphere for the Holiday Season.
A reception will immediately follow the presentation allowing guests an opportunity to meet the performers and visit with community leaders and members from many different churches. For more information call the church office at 760-327-5112.
